~  WHAT TO EXPECT  ~

Most photo shoots to take about 2 hours.  For a typical {FoG} photo shoot, we'll plan to take 1-2 compositions.  One 'Athletic Portraiture' of the fencer in their uniform with weapon, mask, and glove. A second photo of the fencer 'In Action' capturing the Lunge, Point-In-Line, etc.  I like to add a third composition, which is what I assimilate to a Nike commercial shoot, with the fencer in their Warm Up outfit (can be their Team or Club jacket/sweat suit).  It has a very cool vibe, showing this fencer as Athlete. This third composition is a necessary component, especially for {FoG} Albums.  It allows us to tell the fencer's full story from warm up to action.

~  GETTING STARTED  ~

We'll briefly talk about what your FenceOgraphy will say to you.  Tell us if there are specific types of images you want captured or particular portraiture poses that appeal to you.  If you brought your favorite fencing playlist, then we'll plug in your iPod and... let's get started.

~  INTO THE STUDIO   ~

Step over to the studio platform and get comfortable under the studio lights.  We'll ease into the photo shoot with some simple portraiture shots; move into more dramatic portraiture shots till we have a good compilation.   Watch yourself on the computer screen as we shoot - have fun as you see your photos come to life.

~  ACTION UNDER THE LIGHTS  ~

Now that you're comfortable under the lights and feeling free to express in the studio... Let's get some fast action of you in your signature Lunge, your Deep 6, your best Preeme.  Bring your favorite fencing playlist and warm up to bring out your natural fencing style for your Action shot. This series of shots will be captured against a deep Black backdrop for maximum photographic impact.

~  SUPPORTING AUDIENCE  ~

The studio has a comfortable sitting area for parents, spouses or your favorite fencing fan to enjoy the experience with you. We ask that you limit your guest list to two special people.  Think of your photo shoot like a fencing tournament - a place where you are in the spotlight and onlookers can cheer you on while you perform.  But it's comfortable because only your most supportive fans are around you.

Note to supporting audience:  Photography can be a very personal experience.  In order to allow your fencer to feel at their most comfortable, we ask that you simply 'watch' and keep commentaries to a minimum and allow your fencer to experience the spotlight on their own.  Thank you.
